Our History
Abide Housing grew out of the work of Abide Disaster Recovery, both operating under the umbrella of Abide Community. After helping families rebuild following Hurricane Michael and other disasters, our team saw a deeper, ongoing need for safe, reliable housing long after the storm recovery ended.
Founded in Panama City, Florida, Abide Housing was created to fill that gap by providing long-term housing solutions that promote stability, dignity, and hope. As we’ve grown, we continue to evolve to meet the unique needs of our neighbors. We’ve recognized that veterans and seniors make up a significant portion of our local population in need of support, inspiring the development of aging-in-place initiatives that help residents remain safely in their homes.
Looking ahead, Abide Housing is also building preventative and mitigation programs — from replacing storm windows before the next hurricane season to offering upkeep assistance that prevents small issues from becoming major housing challenges. Through every phase of life and every storm, our mission remains the same: to create housing stability that lasts.
